I build the parts of a product nobody sees until they break. Seven years on payment rails, queues and reporting systems — mostly Laravel and Postgres, lately a fair amount of Go. I am at my best when a team is trying to make something slow and fragile become fast and boring.
Experience
Own the settlement pipeline that reconciles roughly 90,000 transactions a day. Cut end-of-day reconciliation from four hours to eleven minutes by moving it off cron and onto a partitioned queue. Mentor two juniors.
example.comBuilt the driver assignment service behind a fleet of 300 vehicles. Wrote the first real test suite the codebase had, which took deploys from weekly and nervous to daily and dull.
Maintained internal tooling for a team of forty. Learned more from reading other people's code than from anything I wrote that year.
Projects
Author
An open-source engine that matches bank statements against internal ledgers and explains every mismatch in plain language. Used in production by three companies I know of.
